WBST-FM was founded in 1972, a huge moment for Soul, Funk, and R&B. The station was small and started by only playing on the weekends. It was 1975 when people were starting to feel the groove and that's when WBST started playing all weeklong. Advertisers starting supporting and local listeners started donating. The listener has supported us all the way and we thank you! Currently, Wbst-Fm has been spreading the funky vibes althroughout the Twin Cities for 40 years and we don't plan on stopping any time soon!

Mission/Goal:
To bring back Soul music into the culture, but most importantly to connect the youth of all ethnicities with the history and transformation of Soul and how closely it relates to music nowadays.
